CHANDIGARH: Two weeks remain for fog to envelope the city, but poor visibility in Delhi on Monday delayed air and rail traffic here, giving a tough time to passengers.
Surender Paul, director, meteorological department, Chandigarh, said, "There are many factors why Delhi is ahead of Chandigarh in both the scenarios. Misty weather will continue for about three to four days and mornings would be unpleasantly cold.
We are anticipating foggy weather towards the end of December."
The minimum average temperature recorded in December till date was 8.8 degrees celsius with a dip of 1-2 degrees. Normally, at this time of the year the minimum temperature recorded was around 10 degrees celsius.
The year 2012 saw the Tricity covered in thick blanket of fog from December 22 onwards. In 2011, foggy weather hit the Tricity as early as November 19 and saw two more foggy days in December. In 2013 till now, the winter has not been harsh, though mist and haze have made their presence felt minus the fog.
